FORT MYERS — Charlotte got a solid start out of Victor Mateo, who combined with two relievers to keep the Fort Myers Miracle at bay in a 4-1 win on Friday night at Hammond Stadium.

Victor Mateo (6-5) threw 52⁄3 innings, allowing six hits while striking out three and walking one. His one earned run came on a Steve Liddle home run in the fifth inning.
