State, county to discuss algae in waterway
PORT CHARLOTTE — Officials from the state Department of Environmental Protection and Department of Health will meet Tuesday with Charlotte County officials and residents to discuss the growing concerns surrounding the algae-infested waters of Sunshine Lake and the Sunrise Waterway in the Parkside area.
The meeting, dubbed the Sunshine Lake Educational Open House, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Cultural Center Charlotte County, 2280 Aaron St., Port Charlotte.
