DEEP CREEK — A 15-year-old boy was injured Monday when he sustained severe burns to his arms, chest, abdomen and groin, according to Charlotte County Fire/EMS spokeswoman Dee Hawkins. The boy was airlifted to the burn unit at Tampa General Hospital, Hawkins said.

Details of the injuries were unavailable Monday, but the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit was investigating the incident Monday afternoon in the 2100 block of Rio De Janeiro Boulevard.
