SARASOTA COUNTY — Official sample ballots for the Aug. 14 primary election will be mailed to all registered voters beginning Tuesday, Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent said. The primary ballot includes three universal primary contests for Charter Review Board Districts 1, 3 and 4. Universal primary contests will appear on all (Democrat, Republican and nonpartisan) ballots. In addition, Republican ballots will contain races for U.S. senator, state attorney for the 12th Judicial Circuit, supervisor of elections and Sarasota County Commission District 5. Ballots for Democrats will include the U.S. Senate race. Dent said voters may preview their sample ballots, mark their choices and then take the sample ballot with them to their polling place on election day or during early voting, Aug. 4-11.
