MURDOCK — Several Charlotte County commissioners on Tuesday directed the county attorney to assemble the best legal team possible, even if that requires hiring outside lawyers, in order to defend against a looming $60 million lawsuit over the county’s failure to immediately repair a defunct water and sewer system for a Rotonda developer.

The discussion came a few days after the commission met behind closed doors to decide whether to appeal an appellate court’s June 27 order in a similar suit.
