Port Charlotte High School's Marlon Nava is the Sun All-Area Baseball Player of the Year. Nava hit .440 with seven home runs on the season. He is set to play for South Florida Community College next season.

Port Charlotte High School catcher Marlon Nava threw out half of the baserunners who attempted to steal on him.

It’s hard to put your finger on the most impressive part of Port Charlotte High School catcher Marlon Nava’s 2012 season.

It might have been that he led the Pirates with a .440 batting average and seven home runs, the latter was a total not approached in the area for several years.
