Charlotte County Emergency Management Director Wayne Sallade recieved a plaque at the Governor's Hurricane Conference recently for developing storm surge awareness to aid in resident evacuation.

Wh at you don’t know about storm surge might put you in harm’s way.

But local residents now have a better chance of knowing when to evacuate quickly, thanks to a new storm surge awareness project implemented by Wayne Sallade, director of Charlotte County Emergency Management.
