Although state Sen. Nancy Detert is unopposed this election year, she has no intention of slowing down in her efforts to accomplish new goals she has set for herself.

“It’s a first for me,” said Detert, R-Venice for District 28. “I’ve always had an opponent, so I’m kind of used to it. But it’s a relief, because campaigning is a whole other job. I feel that now I have a little more credibility about what I’m saying, because people know I’m not running for office.”
