ENGLEWOOD — Longtime Englewood activist Jack Donkel died in his sleep Saturday. He was 82.
“Jack did an awful lot for Englewood East and was a very concerned citizen for Charlotte County — ask any county commissioner,” said Granville “Penny” Pennypacker, who has served on the Englewood East Municipal Service Benefit Unit Advisory Board since 1985. “He had a tenacity and dedication for anything that interested him and fought like a tiger.”
