Wayne Sallade
Charlotte County Emergency Management Director Wayne Sallade has been suspended for five days without pay for “inflammatory statements” he made during a presentation at Edison State College Charlotte Campus in Punta Gorda, according to county records.
On June 13, Sallade — who celebrated his 25th anniversary as director of the county’s emergency management efforts on June 17 — was at the college giving a presentation on the Know Your Zone program — a color-coded flood-warning system that Sallade was instrumental in implementing — at the time the incident occurred, records show.
