SARASOTA COUNTY — Sarasota County Clerk of the Circuit Courts Karen E. Rushing announced Friday that her offices will reduce their hours of operation by an hour and a half daily due to state budget cuts.

The clerk’s main office at 2000 Main St. in Sarasota and its South Venice branch in the Robert L. Administration Center at 4000 S. Tamiami Trail will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday starting July 1. Clerk of courts’ offices around the state are reducing their hours after the state Legislature cut their budget by $31 million, Rushing states in a news release. Rushing said the state’s clerks will continue to work with the Legislature to restore funding and hope to resume regular hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. by mid-July.
