SARASOTA COUNTY — Sarasota County commissioners heard a presentation Friday on where the county’s Capital Improvement Program funding is headed over the next five years, with a special emphasis on fiscal year 2013.

Public Works Executive Director Jim Harriott led off the discussion, held during the commission’s third budget workshop this week, by pointing out that the county has set aside $1.1 billion for its CIP projects between 2013-17 — $277.8 million of which is yet to be assigned.
