The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Environmental Deputy arrested a Punta Gorda man for illegally dumping eight truckloads of trash from the Bread of Life Mission, authorities said Tuesday. Charged with four felony and four misdemeanor counts for violating the litter law was Michael Alan Garrod, 29, 3700 block of Woodholm Drive.

On June 6, a deputy responded to the area of Golf Course Boulevard and Pelican Drive on a report of illegal dumping. An alert resident witnessed a white Ford F-150 pickup carrying full loads of trash past the caller’s home and returning empty. The caller took photos of the truck twice.
