In honor of the late Joanie Reinhard, who spent more than 40 years in Charlotte County volunteering for many causes and organizations, including the Cultural Center of Charlotte County, the inaugural Joanie Award Spirit of Volunteerism ceremony took place in the theater at the Cultural Center, which sponsored the event Friday, which is Reinhard’s birthday. The award that is named in her honor was created to honor other volunteers in Charlotte County. After many nominations from West, Mid- and South County, and voting by a volunteer committee, the 2012 recipients of the Joanie Award are: Les Hassen, Bobbie Marquis, Garnett Scholl, Nancy Prafke and 15-year-old Chance Galloway, who were joined Friday by Joanie’s son Bob Reinhard for the presentation.
