MURDOCK — The Punta Gorda City Council and the Charlotte County Commission approved a pact Friday that allows the city to extend its Community Redevelopment Agency’s termination from 2019 to 2030.

That means, under the CRA’s tax-increment financing, all property tax revenues generated by the increment that property values went up in downtown Punta Gorda since 1989 will continue to be retained by the CRA for 11 years longer than when the County Commission established it.
