ARCADIA — The City of Arcadia must adopt new fire codes to bring the city into compliance with state regulations, DeSoto County Fire Rescue Chief Glenn Prescott said Tuesday night.

Speaking at a workshop called to discuss the current codes, Prescott said the DCFR had recently begun another round of fire inspection in the city when they discovered the code they were working on was out of date and at least one of the requirements believe to be part of the code could not be found in city records.
