The second St. Jude’s Poker Run for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital started at Rascal’s Looney Bin in Port Charlotte Saturday. Karen Brownell, owner of Rascal’s Looney Bin, opened her pub to start the run, which had stops at six other bars and restaurants from Port Charlotte to Venice before returning to Rascal’s Looney Bin for raffles, music and food. Last year, the run raised $7,000, and with the help of Melissa Marshall and many other volunteers, those involved hoped to surpass that. Here, Brownell seen here with her husband, Joe.
