Balmy late-February weather makes for a fun day on Englewood Beach. A warm winter and warm Gulf temperatures are great for tourism, but could herald an early — and busy — hurricane season, according to area meteorologists and emergency managers.

The question is what will warm Gulf waters mean, if anything, when hurricane season begins in June.
