PORT CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office has charged a local man in an alleged slashing incident that took place at Boomers Sports Bar and Nightclub last week.

Michael Joseph Alexander, 28, of the 22300 block of Elmira Boulevard, Port Charlotte, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after authorities say he attacked Leon A. Mercurius.
