FORT MYERS — Charlotte High School baseball exited early in its final game at the Battle of the Border on Thursday night at Terry Park. The Tarpons were on the receiving end of an offensive explosion, losing to Estero 10-0 in five innings.
“It has been a tough tournament for us,” Charlotte coach Dan Flaherty said. “We let one slip away against Mariner. We bounced back against Gulf Coast. Tonight we ran into a team that wanted it a little more than us. We had some errors and hit by pitches. When that happens it takes the wind out of your sails a little bit.”
