Bill would
ease weapons permits for military
TALLAHASSEE (AP) — The Florida House has approved a bill that makes it easier for service members and veterans to get concealed weapons permits.
The bill (HB 463) sailed through final passage with a unanimous vote of 116-0 on Thursday.
But an amendment was rejected — because it was filed too late — that would have made the reckless discharge of a firearm outdoors in residential neighborhoods a first-degree misdemeanor.
A similar bill is moving in the Senate.
