Edison begins search for new president
Edison State College is ready to begin its search for a new district president. A consultant from Academic Search — a higher education recruiting agency Edison hired to find candidates for the position — met Thursday with community leaders and concerned citizens to discuss Charlotte County’s priorities and concerns in the school’s selecting a new president.
Consultant John Hicks had previously met with representatives from Lee, Collier, Hendry and Glades counties, where Edison’s other campuses are located. He said he had found similar priorities and concerns among all counties. They wanted a “visible, enthusiastic leader” who would restore public trust in the college by building relationships in the community, Hicks said.
