Super Bowl player to speak in North Port
Anthony Hargrove
NORTH PORT — After his mother died of AIDS, Anthony Hargrove’s aunt loaded the then-9-year-old and his siblings in a big blue van every Saturday and shuttled them to Pop Warner Football practice in Port Charlotte to keep them out of trouble.
Hargrove, who was homeless at times as a child living in Brooklyn, N.Y., along with his two siblings, was later adopted by their aunt.
