For the second year, an area church is holding an event that is designed to help teens and others understand, if only for 24 hours, what it’s like to be homeless.
The Cardboard Campout event will begin at 10 a.m. March 24 on the grounds of Living Waters Lutheran Church, 12475 Chancellor Blvd. — just across the North Port line in Charlotte County — when campers will begin setting up their cardboard beds and tents for the night. Throughout the day speakers will address those gathered about homelessness in the community.
