Sophie Mary Davis, 95, of North Port, Fla., passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013.

She was born Jan. 5, 1918, in Bicknell, Ind., to George and Jeanne Roqueplot.

Sophie was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Venice, Fla., and was extremely proud of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Richard Davis; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Sophie was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Richard; her son, Stephen Davis; her parents; brother, George Roqueplot; niece, Dawn Caufman; and nephew, Jay Griffith.

A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at McKee Funeral Home, 14538 Tamiami Trail, North Port. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at McKee Funeral Home. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Venice Memorial Gardens, 1950 Center Road, Venice.
