Edna Harriet Hoffmann

Edna Harriet Hoffmann, 86, of North Port, Fla., entered into eternal peace Friday, Nov. 9, 2012.

She was born May 22, 1926, in Port Washington, N.Y., to Edna and Harold Lockman.

Edna, better known as Harriet, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved music and was part of the “La Casa” Chorus for years. Edna loved to read and enjoyed boating with the family. Although she suffered over the last few years, she never complained. The family remembers, with much love, her favorite saying: “I’m OK.”

Edna is survived by her children, Craig (Rose) Hoffmann of Port Charlotte, Fla., Donna Walker of North Port, Beth Ovsianik of Knoxville, Tenn., Scott (Shelley) Hoffmann of Port Charlotte, and Amy (Sean) Bryan of Port Charlotte; brother, Ronald (Helen) Lockman of Port Washington; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Inurnment will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, Fla.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Tidewell Hospice.
