Mark Alan Vocelka went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Sept. 10 2012. He was born in Superior, Wisconsin on July 12, 1962. He is survived by his parents, Byron & Arlene Vocelka of Lakeland, Florida, sons Kyle of Chicago, Illinois and Lucas of Kansas City, Missouri, brother Chris (Lisa) of Belleville, Illinois, and sister Laurie (Robb) Dempsey of Delavan, Wisconsin and nephews Dane, Drew, Josiah, Zach, Brooks, and niece Jillian. He was preceded in death by his wife Deanne on May 18, 2012, maternal and paternal grandparents and an infant brother Scott. Mark grew up in Cumberland, Wisconsin and graduated from Cumberland High school in 1980. He attended Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota and was a member of the choir and had the opportunity to tour many European countries. He worked for many years at FS TV and Appliance in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and later at Larson Chevrolet in Amery, Wisconsin. Mark was married to Julie Barstad in 1982. They later divorced. He married Deanne Prill on May 12, 2001 In N. Aurora, Illinois. In 2004 Mark and Deanne moved to North Port, Florida and in 2006 began their ministry at New Hope Community Church, Mark as associate pastor and Deanne as office manager. On September 11, 2011 they launched the east campus of New Hope Community Church meeting at Imagine Elementary School. Their dream was to be able to do ministry together and this dream came true with their positions at the east campus, Mark as pastor and Deanne working alongside him organizing many outreach events for both campuses. Mark loved being in ministry and wanted everyone to know Jesus. He had a great sense of humor which drew many people to him. The celebration and memorial service of Mark’s life will take place on September 15, 2012 at 1 p.m. at New Hope Community Church (main campus). Refreshments will follow the service.
