Hearing aid customer gets an earful
After continuing problems with his completely-in-canal hearing aids, David Ollila went back last December to Gulf Coast Hearing Aid Center in Englewood, where he purchased them six years ago.
There, Gulf Coast’s Basile Antonelli, working alone, sold the 74-year-old Port Charlotte resident a pair of high-end “demo” receiver-in-canal models for $4,200. While a “30-day money return privilege from delivery date” was printed on the contract, it was crossed off, and replaced with “30-day model change.”
