NORTH PORT — U.S. Youth Soccer TOPSoccer is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program, for special-needs youth ages 4-19, is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any child who has a mental or physical disability. TopSoccer is played in North Port at Butler Park, 6205 W. Price Blvd. Registration is ongoing.

“Buddies” — typically high school or middle school student volunteers — are paired with the athletes for one-on-one or group work for each session. They assist where necessary. No soccer experience is required. Buddies are always needed, and students can earn hours to qualify for Florida Bright Futures scholarships by volunteering. For more information, email registrar@northportyouthsoccer.org, visit www.northportyouthsoccer.org or call 941-257-8876.
