Expert: Local dolphin populations could die off

Besides being illegal to feed a wild dolphin, these boaters are feeding "Beggar," a local dolphin that became inordinately dependent upon boaters feeding him. Beggar died last year.

ENGLEWOOD — Kindness can kill dolphins.

“Beggar,” a dolphin known to boaters between the Albee Road and Blackburn Point Road bridges in Venice — died in September from its dependence on the kindness of humans.
