On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association (PGICA) celebrates its 50th anniversary by inviting the public to their “Harbor Happening” in Punta Gorda, with boats in the water off Gilchrist Park and on the mooring balls at Laishley Park for aerial photographs to be taken at 11 a.m. There will be hundreds of vessels, including sail and motor yachts, fishing boats, youth sail boats, kayaks, dragon boats and even the county’s fire boat.

All members of the area boating community are invited to be on their boats for the pictures and to attend the picnic that follows at Laishley Park. Area restaurants will have food and drink available in the park for purchase. There will be live entertainment by Tim Goodman and Roseanne on Whalley Stage.
