“Waist Watchers,” by Alan Jacobson, and “Rumplestiltskin” by Beth Duda and Adam Ratner are the first PLATO productions in its new home at the Ramada Waterfront, near the Sarasota airport in Manatee County.
PLATO (Professional Learning And Theatrical Organization) is the not-for-profit arm of the old Golden Apple Dinner Theatre which performed for 41 seasons at its own space on Pineapple Avenue in the heart of Sarasota. Led by Kyle Ennis Turoff, daughter of Apple founders Roberta MacDonald and Robert Ennis Turoff, PLATO can accept donations to augment ticket sales, which, in the case of the Apple in recent years, were insufficient to support its productions and facility maintenance.
