David Ray Baker

David Ray Baker, 47, passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012.

He was born March 17, 1965, in Garden City, Mich.

David resided in the Englewood, Fla., area since 1968. He loved boating, fishing and living life to its fullest. He owned and operated two businesses. David did canvas/upholstery work on boats. As “Captain Dave,” he chartered fishing and party boats. A devoted son, brother and uncle, he enjoyed spending time with his family and multitude of friends from Venice, Fla., to Fort Myers, Fla.

David is survived by his wife, Karen Baker; mother, Tippi Baker-Rice; father, Bobby Baker; sister, Linda Vibbert; nieces, Theresa (Shane) Sisler and Lauren Vibbert; great-niece, Emily Sisler; and great-nephew, Kayden Brandon.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at the Moose Lodge, 55 W. Dearborn St., Englewood. All are welcome to come share their memories.

Arrangements are by National Cremation.

I have had the honor of knowing Dave for 7 wonderful years~ He will be sadly missed by all~ He truly had a love for making people happy~ Such a kind hearted soul~ It has been a true honor to have known Dave~ He will forever sail inside our hearts~ <3 <3 RIP my friend!
