Frances A. Wilmot

Frances A. Wilmot, 87, of Englewood, Fla., passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012.

She was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Johnson City, N.Y., to Esther and Eddie Ottman.

Frances was a registered nurse and graduate of the Charles B. Wilson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1947 of Johnson City. She was director of nursing service for Broome Co. Chapter, American Red Cross and went on to be a school nurse teacher for the Binghamton, N.Y. School System for 18 years. Fran was of the Methodist faith and belonged to Fairview Methodist Church of Binghamton, until she moved to Florida and joined the Gulf Cove United Methodist Church. She was active in both church choirs and other church activities.

Frances is survived by her sisters, Doris Matthews of Clearwater, Fla., and Lois White of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; sister-in-laws, Beverly Ottman and Florence Ottman of Johnson City; several nieces and nephew; and close friend, Jody Brokaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Wilmot, in September 2011; also sister, Joyce; and brothers Carl and Bruce.

A memorial service was held Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Gulf Pines Cemetery in Englewood.

Arrangements are by Lemon Bay Funeral Home.
