Nancy Kay Czerwinski Looney, 59, of Englewood, Fla., passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, in Gunnison, Colo.

She was born Jan. 31, 1953, in Englewood to Joe and Elsie (nee Anderson) Czerwinski.

Nancy was a fifth-generation Englewood resident. She was a proud graduate of the University of Florida, graduating with high honors and earning a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance, where her degree led her to managing several local banks in the Englewood and Venice area. Nancy served on several local advisory boards, including the YMCA and the Venice Rotary Club. She loved to read, go diving and exploring wildlife, but most of all she treasured the times she spent with her husband, Michael. Nancy loved Englewood and Englewood loved Nancy.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Joe in 2009.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Englewood United Methodist Church. Mike, Thanks to a good friend I was told about your loss. My heart aches for you. Nancy truly was your best friend. She was always so good to me. You two really helped me get my life turned around. In part, because of her, I am thriving and I say thank you. She was a true confidant for me. You and your family are in my prayers. I will always treasure the time I worked for you and house sitting for you two when you went on vacations. Donna
