Traffic crash, power out at Walmart

ENGLEWOOD — Traffic was moving slowly on State Road 776 in the area of Gulfstream Boulevard after a two-vehicle crash sent two people to the hospital this morning. Charlotte County Sheriff’s deputies were on the scene after receiving a call at 9 a.m. of a crash the intersection. One person was airlifted by BayFlight to Lee Memorial Hospital Trauma Center; another was taken to Englewood Community Hospital and a third person refused to be transported, according to a WINK TV report. Florida Highway Patrol is on the scene as emergency crews work to remove the vehicles.

Traffic from the Gulfstream accident is being rerouted through the Walmart parking lot, according to according to Bob Carpenter, spokesman for the Charlotte County Sheriff’s office.
