Rotary sends Lemon Bay student to Italy

Laurel Porter, a student at Lemon Bay High School, will be going to Italy in August for a year as an exchange student through the Rotary exchange program. The program is designed to help promote world peace through better understanding of other cultures.
Laurel is pictured with J.J. Hummon, president of the Rotary Club of Englewood. Laurel is the daughter of Chris Porter, executive editor of the Sun Newspapers and Glennis Porter, a second grade teacher at Myakka River Elementary School.
