ENGLEWOOD — The Lemon Bay/Myakka Trail Scenic Highway Committee hopes to resurrect Charlotte County and other local jurisdictions’ interest, or the scenic highway signs dotting the 50 miles of designated roadway from Venice to Port Charlotte could disappear.

“It’s covered with dust and we need to blow it off,” said committee member Mo Welling of the effort to get active support for the scenic highway from Sarasota and Charlotte counties, the counties’ respective metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs) and the Florida Department of Transportation.
