Varsity Bulldogs upend Hardee

Senior Tishonna Riley gets everything into it as she picks up another of her team leading 21 kills. After blocking one of Riley’s shots, the Hardee player came out of the lineup and told her coach that her arm was tingling and it had gone numb for a couple of seconds.

Everything turned out just as it was planned for the DeSoto County Bulldogs volleyball team. After the Bulldogs suffered their first district loss to Lemon Bay on a controversial call, the Mantas had to lose at Sebring on the night before DeSoto County’s district match with Hardee last week.

As Hannibal Smith, from the mid 1980s TV show “The A Team” always said, “I love it when a plan comes together.” Sebring downed Lemon Bay 3-1 and the Bulldogs had an easy time with the Lady Cats in a three game sweep.
