PORT CHARLOTTE — Teddy Spikes took the final bow for Port Charlotte High School, the spoils of his 77-yard touchdown run with 3 seconds left to punctuate a 27-7 victory over Hardee in Friday’s spring football game.

Players high-fived Spikes and hugged him, so happy were they with the last-second score. In all, Spikes rushed for 146 yards on nine carries and scored three touchdowns to pace the Port Charlotte offense.
