Malyssa Jeter just has a foot on the line for a two point attempt against Hardee.
The Hardee Girls Basketball Team had not won a game all season. It was said they had not even scored a field goal going into the game against the DeSoto Middle School Panthers. Meanwhile the DeSoto Middle School Panthers were playing at home, playing well, and had limited the Wildcats to just one point earlier in the season.
It was apparent from the start the Lady Panthers were not going to over-pressure the Hardee girls, but just play a solid half-court defense, and work their offense. Employing just the pressure at half court, the DMS girls still managed frequent steals and layup opportunities in the first quarter and opened up an 11-0 lead. Point guard Tigeona Hatcher benefitted most from the steals and layups, scoring six points in the quarter.
