Charles A. Lindberg

Charles “Charlie” A. Lindberg, 74, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, in Sarasota, Fla. He was born Aug. 6, 1938, in Boston, Mass., and moved to Arcadia over 40 years ago from Worcester, Mass.

Charlie worked for the State of Florida for 23 years, at G. Pierce Woods Memorial Hospital, Arcadia Road Prison, and for 18 of those years at DeSoto Correctional Institution. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and loved to read, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Charlie is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene Tenney Lindberg; two sons, Chris (Linda) Lindberg of Arcadia, and Jeffrey Lindberg of Arcadia; two daughters, Heather (R.J.) Decoteau of Arcadia, Samantha (Rod Lozada) Lindberg of Ocala, Fla.; one brother, Erek (Helen) Lindberg of Maine; two sisters, Ginger (Joe) Dellasandro, and Barbara Shadrick all of North Carolina; six grandchildren, Kaylee, Charlie, Colby, Claire, Cailyn, Allie; and two more grandchildren due later this year.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home located at 50 N Hillsborough Ave. in Arcadia. Services will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home with Luke Wilson and the Rev. Steve Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Joshua Creek Cemetery. i know my father is in heaven in no pain,i wish we could of been closer,i know his wife darlene is in deep pain and his children and grandkids are missing him and also in pain,its hard when you love someone and they pass,,just remember the goods times,sorry for your loss,,,cheryl
