Norma Jean Griffin
Norma Jean Griffin, 78, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Tidewell Hospice, Sarasota, Fla.
She was born Nov. 21, 1934, in Arcadia.
Norma was a caregiver in the health-care industry and formerly employed by G. Pearce Wood Memorial Hospital. She dedicated her life to taking care of and comforting others in their time of need.
Norma is survived by her sons, Remus R. Griffin of Arcadia; R. L. Griffin of Port Charlotte; and Mark (Kathryn) Griffin of Nocatee, Fla.; daughter, Kay (Marcus) Harrison of Lake Placid, Fla.; beloved mother, Clyde I. Ford Sims of Arcadia; two brothers, Ralph Cutchen of Arcadia and Paul Cutchen of Zolfo Springs, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, J. D. Cutchens; son, Charles Griffin; and two grandchildren, Kimberly Malnory and Jennifer Griffin.
A farewell celebration dinner in honor of Norma Jean’s life will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at King Park, Fort Ogden, Fla. Online condolences may be made at pongerkaysgrady.com.
