Leonardo Manriquez, 85, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, in Arcadia.

He was born Feb. 26, 1927, in Apaseo el Alto, Guanajuato, Mexico, moving to Arcadia 23 years ago from Mexico.

Leonardo worked as a ranch hand. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Arcadia.

Survivors are his beloved wife, Juana R. Manriquez of Arcadia; five daughters, Estela Manriquez, Graciela Manriquez, Herminia Manriquez, Adela Manriquez and Sylvia Manriquez, all of Arcadia; three sons, Gabriel Manriquez, Ernesto Manriquez and Miguel Manriquez, all of Arcadia; 36 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. Leonardo was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Maria and Margareta Manriquez.

Visitation will be conducted from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a Rosary recital at 7 p.m., today, Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at the Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home Chapel, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, with Father Vincent Clemente officiating. Burial will follow at Joshua Creek Cemetery.
