Jeanette Bush

Jeanette Bush, 66, of DeSoto County, Fla., passed away.

She was born April 3, 1946, to Lucy M. White and Israel Bush.

Jeanette attended Smith-Brown High School, where she graduated in 1962. Upon graduation, she entered the workforce. She was known for often working two to three jobs at a time; just to name a few: Tinsley’s IGA, Country Gentlemen, KFC, Geo, DJJ and the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office (Food Service), with her last employment being at Nocatee Elementary School. Throughout her many working years she encountered numerous wonderful, loving and caring friends. We all know she will never be forgotten. May God bless each and every one of you.

Jeanette is survived by five children, Lucy Polk-Bates, Andre Polk and Ian (Nika) Bush, all of Arcadia, Fla., and Aleathia Clifton and Jessie Clifton, both of Columbia, S.C.; sister, Ernestine Tyler of Nocatee, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three nieces; four nephews; one God-Brother; fiancé, Kevin Smith; and many loving cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Hickson Funeral Home in Arcadia. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Arcadia. Burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Arcadia.

Arrangements are by Hickson Funeral Home and Cremations, Arcadia.

My most sincere condolences to Jeannette's family and fiance' Kevin for the loss of one of the nicest ladies I have ever met. She always had a big hug and smile when we saw each other. Jeannette will be sorely missed.
