Guadalupe R. Villegas Sr., 60, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012.

He was born in Alice, Texas, on Sept. 26, 1952.

Guadalupe has resided in Arcadia for more than 30 years, coming from Sundown, Texas. He worked as a landscaper. Guadalupe was a man of many trades, a family man, and a business man. He enjoyed barbecuing and listening to oldies while cruising with the windows down. Guadalupe was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Villegas of Arcadia; sons, Michael (Christina) Villegas, and Guadalupe Villegas III of Port Charlotte, Fla.; daughters, Mary Ann (Billy) Poncier of Arcadia, Jessica Villegas of San Antonio, Texas, Christy Villegas of Arcadia; brothers, Joe Villegas, Oscar Villegas, and Richard Villegas of Sundown; grandchildren, William Poncier Jr., Brandon Shirley, Michael Villegas Jr., Nicholas L. Villegas, Madison Poncier, and Olivia Rose Villegas. Guadalupe was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Alicia Villegas; son, Guadalupe Villegas Jr.; and brothers, Daniel Villegas, Mike Villegas, and Ben Villegas.

A memorial service will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Ponger Kays Grady Funeral Home, Arcadia, with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Online condolences can be made at http://www.pongerkaysgrady.com/.
