William E. “Bill” Bumgardner Jr., 95, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, in Arcadia.

He was born March 29, 1917, in Bridgeport, Conn.

Bill moved to Arcadia in 1991 from Fort Myers, Fla. He was a retired life insurance agent for Liberty National Life Insurance. Bill was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served in World War II. He loved boating on the Gulf of Mexico, and socializing with his many friends. Bill was of the Presbyterian faith.

He is survived by a daughter, Coral Conner of Ramrod Key, Fla.; son; William E. Bumgardner III of Anderson, S.C.; grandchildren, Michael Bumgardner, Debbie Bumgardner and Kimberly Bryant; and great-grandchildren, Matthew Beauchamp and Wyatt Bumgardner.
