Becky Van Pelt: Opera House Artist

Becky Van Pelt works in oils, acrylics and watercolor, and paints a variety of sujects from portraits to landscapes and abstract themes. Her work hangs in the Opera House in downtown Arcadia.


Becky Van Pelt creates exuberant astract images, painting over previously painted work. A discerning viewer may sense the underlying painting beneath the swirls of color.

Having traveled extensively is the contributing factor to the diversity of Becky Van Pelt’s art. She has traveled from Key West to Alaska and most states in between. Becky has visited France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Canada, Monaco, Bermuda, the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands.

When Becky isn’t painting, she’s studying art or reading books on artists. She is mostly influenced by Picasso, Pollock and Van Gogh. Becky is an 18-year breast cancer survivor. She has three adult children, eight grandchildren and expecting a great-grandchild in 2014.
