There is a new store in town with a unique business plan. Wayne Onofri and his son Kevin opened the doors of the Vapor Train last week with high hopes of closing them in two years. They would like to have DeSoto County smoke-free then, and they will move on to the next town. They are not in this for the money but to save lives by sharing the formula for success via electronic vapor cigarettes, although their customers can save up to $1,000 per year.
Owner Kevin Onofri made the decision to walk away from his lucrative position as a manager with Comcast Cable in order to open his store after he witnessed his father, a 40-year smoker, quit smoking without even trying, on his first day of “vaping.” Kevin had also smoked for 15 years, and because he enjoyed it he had no plans of quitting.
