PORT CHARLOTTE — Port Charlotte High School coach Rodney Taylor knows too well what’s on paper does not necessarily tell the whole story.

“Put us on paper, we’re one of the best teams in the area,” Taylor said Friday, shortly after his team was held to three hits during a 12-0 loss to Sarasota. “Put us on the field … and sometimes we play scared out there, and it’s frustrating to watch.
